Paweł Kwiek: Zrobić niemożliwe światło

To celebrate Paweł Kwiek’s 70th birthday, the Arton Foundation presents the book Paweł Kwiek: Doing the Impossible Light, which is devoted primarily to the artist’s works created since the 1980s. This is therefore the first publication dedicated to the later period in his practice – so far, researchers have primarily focused on the photographs, films and videos made by Kwiek when he was associated with the Workshop of the Film Form in the 1970s.

Paweł Kwiek (b. 1951 in Warsaw) is a multimedia artist, a graduate of the Film School in Łódź. His works can be found in the collections of the Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, the Museum of Art in Łódź, and Erste Kontakt in Vienna.

The book contains essays by Sebastian Cichocki, Dr Marika Kuźmicz, Dr Tomasz Załuski and Prof. Rachel Weiss.
